6-7pm: Life.Lab Launch
Digital Harbour Chairman Leon Kempler OAM will welcome guests and introduce VicUrban CEO Pru Sanderson to provide an overview of Docklands and to welcome Cr Peter Clarke, City of Melbourne Councilor and joint Chair of the Docklands Coordination Committee to open Life.Lab.
7-9pm: Melbourne Domain
The Domain is the networking evening for the media and technology industry. Social commentator and journalist Brad Howarth will interview Tony Wheeler, Founder of Lonely Planet “on the couch”.
Tony Wheeler
Today there are over 500 Lonely Planet titles, each one with a ‘between-the-lines message that travellers should respect the planet they wander. Tony believes that travellers enjoy themselves much more when they know more about the places they’re visiting.
Over the past 30 years, Tony has researched and written numerous Lonely Planet travel guides, diving guides, walking guides, and travel literature. Tony continues to play an active part in researching, writing and updating Lonely Planet guides.
Brad Howarth
Brad is a writer and journalist, having contributed to numerous publications in Australia and the US over the past ten years. For 4 yrs he was a senior writer with BRW, where he held the positions of both Information Technology Editor and Marketing Editor. He currently contributes to BRW, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Rolling Stone Australia, GQ Australia and now BusinessWeek and Red Herring in the USA.
