Australia Retail Industry - Adoption Plans for Online Advertising & E-tailing
Tags: All Events, Place - New South Wales, Place - Victoria, Topic - Software Development (submitted on September 5th, 2010)A presentation of the key findings from one of Australia’s most comprehensive research studies into what retailers are currently doing, thinking and planning regarding online advertising, marketing and e-tailing in Australia.
The research involved qualitative interviews with 21 of Australia’s top retailers, followed by a quantitative study which engaged a broad sample of 128 major Australian retail businesses. The research, supported by AIMIA’s Retail Industry Group and conducted by the Australian Centre for Retail Studies at Monash University, is seen as a landmark study, that will form the basis of an annual benchmarking study which will give retailers a comprehensive picture of the rate of online adoption across a range of areas.
Chairman of the AIMIA Retail Industry Group, Robert Wong said “It’s an important piece of research work for the retail and interactive industry as there is very little local industry data available benchmarking online adoption for retail in Australia. Retail is a competitive area, which is why there is need for someone like the AIMIA RIG to act as an independent collator of industry information for online advertising and e-tail”.
